Howlerscapes ("we", "us") is a tour operator based in Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit howlerscapes.com, book a tour or shuttle, or contact us, and how we use and protect it.
Information you give us: your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, hotel or pickup location, travel dates, group size, and any details you share in a booking, quote request or message (for example ages of children or dietary needs you choose to tell us about).
Payment information: online payments are processed by our booking platform (Bókun) and its payment providers. We do not see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically: like most websites, we and our service providers may collect technical data such as your browser, device, pages visited and approximate location, using cookies and similar tools (for example Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel), to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising.
We use your information to confirm and run your booking, arrange pickups and transportation, send you tickets, reminders and updates, answer your questions and quote requests, process payments and refunds, improve our website and services, and, if you agree, send you occasional offers. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time.
We share only what is needed to deliver your experience: with the local guides, boat operators, drivers and activity partners who run your tour or transfer; with service providers that help us operate (booking, payments, email, messaging, website hosting and analytics); and with authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies help the site and the booking calendar work, remember your preferences and measure visits and ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, such as booking, may not work correctly without them.
We keep booking and contact information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet accounting, tax and legal obligations, and then delete or anonymize it.
In line with Costa Rica's personal data protection law (Law No. 8968), you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its use for marketing. Write to us at info@howlerscapes.com and we will reply as soon as possible.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No website or online service is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information such as card numbers by email or chat.
Our services are booked by adults. We only receive information about minors when a parent or guardian includes it in a booking.
