Know Before You Go

Quick answers to what travelers ask us most before a trip to Guanacaste, from the best months to visit to what goes in your day bag.

Best time to visit

Sunny dry season or lush green season

Guanacaste is one of the sunniest regions in Costa Rica. Dry season runs from December to April, with clear skies and golden hills. Green season, from May to November, brings lush forests and fewer crowds, usually with sunny mornings and afternoon showers.
